Meditation Quotes

What is the benefit of reading meditation quotes? Contemplating the words of a spiritual teacher is a time-honored way to access your own deeper self. Taking time to slow down and consider the words of a more advanced practitioner can help catalyze the inner conditions for meditation.

Think of these as food to fuel your own intention and love for meditation and spirit. When your intention is strong and you relish the opportunity to sit in meditation, that is a great gift. As the venerable Sogyal Rinpoche says, “The greatest gift we can give ourselves in this life is to learn how to meditate.”

Here are some of the effects you can experience from reading these meditation quotes:

  • expanded consciousness
  • relaxation
  • joy and ease of being
  • deeper insights into your spiritual practice
  • meditative awareness
  • increased motivation to meditate
  • a state of increased focus and concentration

Meditation is a process of lightening up, of trusting the basic goodness of what we have and who we are, and of realizing that any wisdom that exists, exists in what we already have. We can lead our life so as to become more awake to who we are and what we’re doing rather than trying to improve or change or get rid of who we are or what we’re doing. The key is to wake up, to become more alert, more inquisitive and curious about ourselves.

We could say that meditation doesn’t have a reason or doesn’t have a purpose. In this respect it’s unlike almost all other things we do except perhaps making music and dancing. When we make music we don’t do it in order to reach a certain point, such as the end of the composition. If that were the purpose of music then obviously the fastest players would be the best. Also, when we are dancing we are not aiming to arrive at a particular place on the floor as in a journey. When we dance, the journey itself is the point, as when we play music the playing itself is the point. And exactly the same thing is true in meditation. Meditation is the discovery that the point of life is always arrived at in the immediate moment.

There is no relationship involved.

Meditation is another dimension of natural beauty. People talk about appreciating natural beauty—climbing mountains, seeing giraffes and tigers in Africa, and all sorts of things. But nobody seems to appreciate this kind of natural beauty of ourselves. This is actually far more beautiful than flora and fauna, far more fantastic, far more painful and colorful and delightful.

– Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche

If a man who has committed a misdemeanor come to the knowledge of it, reform himself, and practise goodness, the force of retribution will gradually exhaust itself as a disease gradually loses its baneful influence when the patient perspires.

When an evil-doer, seeing you practise goodness, comes and maliciously insults you, you should patiently endure it and not feel angry with him, for the evil-doer is insulting himself by trying to insult you.

– Buddha

meditation quotes

Evil-doers who denounce the wise resemble a person who spits against the sky; the spittle will never reach the sky, but comes down on himself. Evil-doers again resemble a man who stirs the dust against the wind; the dust is never raised without doing him injury. Thus, the wise will never be hurt, but the curse is sure to destroy the evil-doers themselves.

– Buddha

Moved by their selfish desires, people seek after fame and glory. But when they have acquired it, they are already stricken in years. However much its pleasing odor be admired, the fire that consumes is steadily burning up the stick.

Men are tied up to their families and possessions more helplessly than in a prison. There is an occasion for the prisoner to be released, but householders entertain no desire to be relieved from the ties of family. meditation quotes

Pain is physical; suffering is mental. Beyond the mind there is no suffering. Pain is essential for the survival of the body, but none compels you to suffer. Suffering is due entirely to clinging or resisting; it is a sign of our unwillingness to move on, to flow with life.

– Nisargadatta Maharaj

If you mind is empty, it is always ready for anything; it is open to everything.  In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, in the expert’s mind there are few.

Shunryu Suzuki

When pain is accepted for what it is, a lesson and a warning, and deeply looked into and heeded, the separation between pain and pleasure breaks down, both become just experience – painful when resisted, joyful when accepted.

It is sometimes said that the first stages of the meditation process are the most difficult. The first distraction is the physical body. Sometimes there is real pain in sitting, and sometimes the ego just tries to distract us by creating itches we will want to scratch.

– Sarasvati Buhrman

You exist in time, but you belong to eternity. You are a penetration of eternity into the world of time. You are deathless, living in a body of death. Your consciousness knows no death, no birth. It is only your body that is born and dies. But you are not aware of your consciousness. You are not conscious of your consciousness. And that is the whole art of meditation. Becoming conscious of consciousness itself.

– Swami Vivekananda

After sleeping through a hundred million centuries we have finally opened our eyes on a sumptuous planet, sparkling with color, bountiful with life. Within decades we must close our eyes again. Isn’t it a noble, an enlightened way of spending our brief time in the sun, to work at understanding the universe and how we have come to wake up in it? This is how I answer when I am asked-as I am surprisingly often-why I bother to get up in the mornings.

In Truth

Live your truth and you will be free.

Because in truth you know exactly who you are, the lines of your personality, the depths and valleys of your soul, what it is that you lack and where you overflow. In truth, you don’t apologize for who you are. You live divinely in your own skin, without the heaviness of another persona lying on your back.

In truth, you know what you want, in all of its complexities and nuances, difficulties and joy. You are not bound by others’ expectations of who you must be, of what is common or normal or “right.” In truth, you pave your own path forward, and remain faithful and committed to your purpose and destiny.

In truth, you know when you’re hurting yourself, when you are bruising your ego, diffusing your strength, crippling your dreams. In truth, you are honest enough to know when you need help and to seek it. You are strong enough to pick yourself back up, limb by fallen limb, and start again.

In truth, you listen to that inner voice, the one telling you when something feels off, when someone’s intentions seem duplicitous, when the next step forward is not the right one. In truth, you don’t stifle the voice inside you. You honor and are guided by your inner wisdom.

In truth, you know when you’ve been unfair or judgmental, made a mistake in action, tone or response. No matter the cost, you realize that you must make reparations. Because, in truth, you would expect no less from someone else.

In truth, you don’t tolerate bitterness, jealousy, and regret. You accept what you cannot change and work to change what you can. In truth, you realize that your life is dictated by your mind so you work to make your outlook bright.

In truth, you recognize that your place in this world is temporary and it is up to you to use this time wisely.

The Warren Buffett Way 83 Reasons We Love Warren Buffett

When all of this Corona Virus troubles has settled down and the world is returning back to normal.  There will be new opportunities for fast moving and entrepreneurial folks.  The Warren Buffett way may provide you with the right answers.

If you are interested in opening a business then, you should probably be be modelling the success of those who have achieved success in their businesses. As we all know, starting up any kind of business can be very difficult, especially if you don’t have enough knowledge in handling and even operating a business.

the warren buffett wayAsking help from professional and successful business owners or just modelling other successful entrepreneurs can be a great help. Warren Buffet is arguably one of the most successful investors ever. If you are going to model anyone it should be the Warren Buffett way.

Below are 83 reasons to love Warren Buffet, which I found from www.Fool.com

There are many reasons why we should love Warren Buffett. Warren Buffet is one of the most ideal person that businessmen look up to. Not everyone knows how much he has done in helping people improve their business.

1. Intricate, occasionally contradictory complexity hides beneath the “Aw, shucks” folksy charm. As a Forbes writer once put it, “Buffett is not a simple person, but he has simple tastes.”

2. Many people talk about avoiding the madding crowd, but Buffett actually does it by living 1,250 miles away from Wall Street.

3. He has a fortress-like internal scorecard on all things investing, yet a vulnerable, endearing external scorecard on many aspects of his personal life. See his penchant for seeking mother figures.

4. His perspective: “In the 20th century, the United States endured two world wars and other traumatic and expensive military conflicts; the Depression; a dozen or so recessions and financial panics; oil shocks; a flu epidemic; and the resignation of a disgraced president. Yet the Dow rose from 66 to 11,497.”

5. He is that guy in school who tells you he may have failed the test — only to bust the top of the curve.

6. His time frame for the long run consistently exceeds his life span.

7. He says it better: “Someone’s sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.”

8. He’s human. He fears nuclear war and his own mortality. He’s frequently more adept at business relationships than personal ones. He can hold a grudge. His hero is his daddy.

9. Classic line: “Rule No. 1: Never lose money. Rule No. 2: Never forget rule No. 1.”

10. Once branded a stingy miser (rightly or wrongly), Buffett has evolved (assuming it wasn’t his intention from the start) into one of the most effective philanthropists I know. After growing his potential givings at a 20% compounded rate per year, he set a plan to give most of it away.

Read the only investing book that Warren Buffett recommends:

The Intelligent Investor – Benjamin Graham

The Warren Buffett Way

11. Perhaps as importantly, he put ego aside and outsourced his charitable decision-making to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Circle of competence at its finest.

12. “I never attempt to make money on the stock market. I buy on the assumption that they could close the market the next day and not reopen it for five years.” Contrast that with computer algorithm-based trading, day trading, and some of the moves you’ve made in your own account.

13. Buffett’s smarter than you and I, but he’s kind enough to let us feel otherwise.

14. David Sokol was once an heir apparent and arguably Buffett’s most trusted operations guy. But when Sokolgate emerged, Buffett stayed true to his word: “We can afford to lose money — even a lot of money. But we can’t afford to lose reputation — even a shred of reputation.”

15. “Derivatives are financial weapons of mass destruction.” He said it early, and we are reminded of it often.

16. In a glimpse of the nuance that some commentators call hypocrisy, Buffett uses derivatives himself. But he does so in a way that doesn’t threaten the entire financial system and explains exactly why in his annual shareholder letters.

17. He doomed himself from ever holding public office: “A public-opinion poll is no substitute for thought.”

18. I like juxtaposing these two quotes: 1) “It’s better to hang out with people better than you. Pick out associates whose behavior is better than yours and you’ll drift in that direction.” 2) “Wall Street is the only place that people ride to in a Rolls-Royce to get advice from those who take the subway.”

19. “You only have to do a very few things right in your life so long as you don’t do too many things wrong.”

20. He has the ability to resist the allure of the quick fix or quick buck when longer-term dynamics are at play.

21. Not sure if this quote came before or after the Internet: “Let blockheads read what blockheads wrote.”

22. For those hoping to become famous and respected, he’s a testament that the challenges and doubts keep coming regardless of the length of the track record. He has publicly prevailed so far.

23. An investing truism: “Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.”

24. The business side of that investing truism: “Your premium brand had better be delivering something special, or it’s not going to get the business.”

25. He uses colorful language and analogies when drab jargon could do the trick.

26. Boring example: moat vs. competitive advantage.

27. Not-so-boring example: sex.

28. “Look at market fluctuations as your friend rather than your enemy; profit from folly rather than participate in it.”

29. Classic line: “Only when the tide goes out do you discover who’s been swimming naked.”

30. He backs up his saying, “Our favorite holding period is forever,” by keeping past-their-prime subsidiaries that others would “spin off to unlock value.”

31. His Robin (Charlie Munger) can kick your Batman’s butt.

32. He makes loophole-free handshake deals.

33. “Risk comes from not knowing what you’re doing.”

34. Quote No. 1 on keeping it simple, stupid: “The business schools reward difficult complex behavior more than simple behavior, but simple behavior is more effective.”

35. Quote No. 2 on keeping it simple, stupid: “There seems to be some perverse human characteristic that likes to make easy things difficult.”

36. The Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK-A ) (NYSE: BRK-B ) annual meeting is an unrivaled spectacle in investing, truly living up to its billing as the Woodstock for Capitalists.

37. One of the most concise summations of why America is great: “There are 339 million people out there that are trying to improve their lot in life. And we’ve got a system that allows them to do it.”

38. Trash-bin-diving caution No. 1: “It’s far better to buy a wonderful company at a fair price than a fair company at a wonderful price.”

39. Trash-bin-diving caution No. 2: “Time is the friend of the wonderful company, the enemy of the mediocre.”

40. He’s an eternal optimist in a sound-bite culture that often rewards pessimistsThe Warren Buffett way

41. His shareholder letters reveal an artisan-like craftsmanship only seen when the proprietor cares deeply about his creation.

42. The contrarian credo: “We simply attempt to be fearful when others are greedy and to be greedy only when others are fearful.”

43. He recognizes that genius fails: “When a management with a reputation for brilliance tackles a business with a reputation for bad economics, it is the reputation of the business that remains intact.”

44. Like so many great thinkers, Buffett is able to ignore noise and whittle a decision down to its core variables. After he explains those variables, the decision sounds elementary.

45. Why banking can be dangerous: “When you combine ignorance and leverage, you get some pretty interesting results.”

46. He allows me to see the name Buffett without thinking of Jimmy.

47. Buffett maintains a high thought-to-speech ratio.

48. Buffett’s librarian fantasy: “If past history was all there was to the game, the richest people would be librarians.”

49. He converts a deadly sin into a virtue: “You do things when the opportunities come along. I’ve had periods in my life when I’ve had a bundle of ideas come along, and I’ve had long dry spells. If I get an idea next week, I’ll do something. If not, I won’t do a damn thing.”

50. Averaging 20% returns for almost half a century results in beating the S&P 500 78-to-1!

51. Even though he has fewer and fewer meaningful investing options because of the size of Berkshire Hathaway, he continues to wow us.

52. On a chili-dog-and-onion-ring-flavored note, Berkshire Hathaway owns Dairy Queen, my favorite fast-food chain.

53. Many of Buffett’s managers were wildly successful entrepreneurs before selling out to Berkshire. Convincing successful, headstrong, boss-less superstars to subjugate themselves, and keeping those people motivated and happy, is quite a feat.

54. On a related note, Buffett doesn’t micromanage — good thing, with an empire this large.

55. He gets doubted again and again and again and proves the doubters wrong most of the time. Yet you never hear him say, “I told you so.”

56. Well, maybe sometimes he gloats. Harvard Business School rejected him, which led him to study under his mentors Benjamin Graham and David Dodd at Columbia. His “How do you like me now?” statement: “Harvard did me a big favor by turning me down. But I haven’t made any contributions to them in thanks for that.”

57. He has become America’s de facto investing teacher. And he has done so willingly.

58. Perhaps my favorite Buffett line: “We like things that you don’t have to carry out to three decimal places. If you have to carry them out to three decimal places, they’re not good ideas.”

59. Not that he can’t be ruthless, but Buffett tends to look for win-win situations where possible. Contrast that with the Wall Street art of “ripping the face off” of clients.

60. He’s often described as a “learning machine,” extending his natural abilities and allowing him to make behemoth investing decisions over the span of just hours.

61. He added to Ben Graham’s teachings with the help of that learning ability and Munger’s counsel.

62. Now is a good time to point out that companies’ annual reports, which are available to all, are the primary fuel in his learning machine. He reads them voraciously to compare and contrast companies and build his business knowledge base. See the next point.

63. When asked what the most important key to his success was, Buffett answered, “focus.” His biographer Alice Schroeder elaborates: He has “focus like you have never seen on anybody else.” For good or ill, Buffett’s entire life has been dedicated to investing. It’s much harder than he lets on.

64. There are plenty of business fish in the sea: “There are all kinds of businesses that I don’t understand, but that doesn’t cause me to stay up at night. It just means I go on to the next one, and that’s what the individual investor should do.”

65. How many people can pull off being a contrarian by buying shares of Coca-Cola?

66. Even in an investing world full of Buffett students and imitators, he manages to surprise.

67. He takes every legal, ethical advantage available in the current system, but he lobbies for a better system. For example, he supports higher taxes for the rich, more severe estate taxes, and a level playing field. As he puts it, “I don’t like anything where the bottom 20% keep getting a poorer and poorer deal.”

68. He is grateful for the advantages he has had in life — like many of us, he won the “ovarian lottery.”

Grandpa’s Rules – 7 Rules for Success in Life and Business …. more great ideas

69. When he talks, E. F. Hutton listens.

70. Like many geniuses, he is frequently the confounding exception to the rule. For example, Berkshire Hathaway has never paid a dividend and only started share repurchases recently. It also doesn’t split the chairman and CEO roles. And we shareholders thank him for it.

71. Buffett buys what he knows (and frequently loves), but he doesn’t overpay out of affection. He has the discipline to wait decades for the right opportunity.

72. He gives credit to his direct reports.

73. Not only is Buffett a great investor and manager, but he’s one hell of a writer. My jealousy grows.

74. He once picked up a date in a hearse he co-owned.

75. Before making his money work for him, he worked for his money early on with a series of jobs, schemes, and ventures. These included a paper route, selling chewing gum door to door, a pinball business, a sales job at J.C. Penney’s, caddying, marking up refurbished golf balls, and founding a horse-racing tip sheet.

76. He’s a permabull — on women.

77. It’s very possible that the house you live in is worth more than the house Buffett lives in — the house in Omaha he bought in 1958.

78. Over the years, he has relied on a similar set of answers to oft-asked questions. That his philosophy has stayed stable throughout that time is remarkable.

79. His wealth has bought him the ultimate trophy: He does whatever he wants to do just about every single day.

80. He’s the outsized calming influence a lot of us need. From his biography Snowball: “If a tornado were barreling straight toward Kiewit Plaza [where his office is], Buffett would say that things were ‘never better’ before mentioning the twister.”

81. Anyone who can make the hyper-opinionated Charlie Munger regularly utter “I have nothing to add” must be saying something impressive.

82. When his time to step down finally comes, it will take a village (a CEO, a chairman, and multiple portfolio investors) to perform his current responsibilities.

83. That said, he fully expects this list to one day reach well into the triple digits. And I look forward to adding those lines. Happy birthday, Mr. Buffett!

Why You Should Listen To Your Heart And How To Do It

Why You Should Listen To Your Heart And How To Do It

Listen to your heart when in doubt

We all know many people who have ignored their heart in life. Their heart was telling them to date a certain person, go after a certain job, or live a certain life, but instead of listening to their heart, they ignored it and did something easier or more expected of them. These people have regrets, and they will tell you about them often. It’s a lesson for all of us who want to listen to our hearts but are debating whether we really should or not.

However, there is also a group of people who have listened to their hearts and have found themselves in a place of struggle or anxiety. Their hearts have led them to do things that have gotten them in trouble. They wished they hadn’t followed their hearts in some cases, and it can scare the crap out of us when it comes to deciding whether to listen to our hearts.

What Does It Mean To Listen To Your Heart?

“Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” – C.G. Jung

To listen to your heart means to listen to your intuition – your gut feeling about your life. Obviously, your heart can tell when you are nervous or excited by beating faster or skipping a beat, but beyond that, it doesn’t quite send you messages. Your intuition is often considered the sixth sense – a psychic knowledge or understanding.

According to the science behind intuition, it comes from our subconscious, a place of instinct where we automatically know what is right. That’s just another reason to listen to your heart. Sometimes it knows something you can’t clearly see in your conscious mind.

One cancer researcher said that almost every cancer survivor he studied had listened to their heart when it came to treatment. They let their intuition guide them in their choices, and they survived something that could have easily taken them down if they had followed what other people wanted them to do.

Two Big Benefits Of Listening To Your Heart

If you are not convinced that you should listen to your heart, then following are some undeniable benefits of doing so.

1. You Will Follow Your Truth Path

When you are fully in tune with your heart when it comes to decisions, you will make choices based on your true path in life, not on what you think you should be doing or what others want you to do. Sometimes this path may be completely off course from the normal way of life.

For instance, Shay Butler is a vlogger who followed his heart when it came to vlogging. He knew that there was something in it for him, but it was at a time when most people believed you couldn’t make really good money from making videos on the Internet. He had three kids, and people around his didn’t believe in his vision like he did. But he pursued vlogging in a big way. Less than a decade later, he is a millionaire because of it. Now he lives in a place he loves, has two more kids, and gets to really follow his heart because he has the freedom and money to take the short route to what he wants.

2. No Regrets

One of the biggest regrets of the dying is that they didn’t live life on their terms, or, in other words, they didn’t follow their heart. You do not want to reach the end of your life and feel like you wasted it. The pain of that will be a lot, and when you know that your years are numbered, you won’t be able to stay present because you will always be looking back at the time wasted.

In short, you will not actually get to live your life. Instead, you will just exist. You will be someone who was here and breathed, but you will not be someone who found meaning in life, lived out your passions, and experienced everything that life had to throw at you.

Do you really want to live a life full of regrets? I would guess, even without knowing you, that you don’t.

When Should You Use Caution When You Listen To Your Heart?

Why You Should Listen To Your Heart

It would be nice if we could all just listen to heart and throw caution to the wind, but the fact is that our choices in life lead to results that can affect us positively or negatively, and we have to be aware enough to see when our choices have the potential of leading to negative outcomes.

Our heart may want something, but sometimes it’s better to use our head and think things through a little so we can really see what could go wrong with a particular decision. Sometimes our heart may tell us to do something that will make us happy, so we ignore some obvious signs in front of us about how unhappy we really would be.

For instance, I’ve often talked about a woman who met a guy that really wasn’t right for her. He was unhealthy, bitter, and lived with his mother still. But she listened to her heart, and her heart told her that she wanted kids, and this was a guy who could give them to her. Not very romantic. And while she now has three kids, she is miserable because her husband is the opposite of romantic. He is cold, cheats on her, and puts her down at every chance he gets. She followed her heart and got screwed. Even though she has the kids she thought would make her happy, she is miserable most of the time and feels stuck.

Therefore, you have to use common sense. Your heart may tell you what you want, but in different situations, you have to be smart enough to ask if this is the way to get what your heart wants.

Yes, that woman’s heart was telling her that she wanted kids, but she didn’t have to pick the jerk to do it. She could have held that desire until a time that what she wanted lined up with a reasonable way to get it. Does that make sense?

Another example is starting a business. If you listen to your heart, and it tells you to become a blogger, for example, you can easily act without thinking. You can find someone who claims they have all the secrets, follow their advice on the type of blog you should start, and then blog in a niche you hate and have no passion around. You are blogging, but you are miserable doing it.

In other words, while you don’t want to be analytical over every situation, you do want to be grounded in reality somewhat so that you can listen to heart and do things that actually help you get what you want, rather than cause you to end up somewhere miserable and confused at why listening to your heart didn’t pay off.

Steps To Listen To Your Heart For A Better Life

Why Listen To Your Heart

There is no denying it, though. Listening to your heart will help you have a better and more rewarding life. You will do things that matter to you. You will do things that align with your purpose. You will feel more on track in life and celebrate yourself more. Life will just be more rewarding all the way around when you can listen to your heart and go after the things you really want. But, there is a process to it.

The next time you have a decision to make where you have different options, go through the following steps. This will help you make the most out of listening to your heart.

1. Ask Yourself Which Decision Is In Tune With Your Best Self

If you are faced with a decision, look at the options and decide which one is in tune with your best self. Which one makes you feel like you are going to ultimately end up not just having one positive thing come into your life, but have your whole life be affected positively.

For instance, the woman who wanted kids faced a decision of marrying a jerk or waiting for a better guy to come around. While she knew that having kids was in line with her best self, there was something that had to happen before she could have kids – something that was going to impact her long after her kids left too – a man. If she asked herself if marrying a jerk was in tune with her best self, then she probably would have decided to wait for someone better. Obviously marrying a jerk was not going to make her a better person or make her happy, so it was not in tune with her best self.

2. Ask Yourself If You Are Doing Something You Think You Should Do

When we make decisions for ourselves, we sometimes make decisions based on what other people think we should do. We still relate this to our heart, but it isn’t. It the pressure we feel to please others and have them see us in a certain light.

For instance, the woman who wanted kids felt pressured to have kids. She was over 30, raised in a strict Catholic home, and her mother was starting to worry that she was never going to have kids. This pressure contributed to her decision, and obviously, it resulted in her living a life that was not in line with her true self.

Of course, you may think you should do something for reasons other than what other people think. For instance, you may think you should do something that contributes positively to others, even though you would rather do something else. The pull to do things that society tells us we have to do can often cause us to make a decision that we think is based on our heart, but is really just based on what other people want.

3. Don’t Let The Unknown Get In The Way

Listen To Your Heart

As I said, you don’t know what listening to your heart will actually get you. You may have a preferred idea of what should happen, but life doesn’t work that way. People interfere, things change, unexpected events come up, and what you expect to happen could fall through.

If you know that the decision you want to make is in line with who you are and is something that you know you want to do – not something someone else wants you to do, then you have to be brave and do it. Don’t let fear stop you, because it will try! In fact, it is the number one thing that holds people from going after their deepest desires in life. It will make you question your motives, rethink what you want, and sometimes help you come up with excuses why you shouldn’t follow your heart at all.

4. Make A Plan

Why You Should Listen To Your Heart-

This is a funny step for following your heart, but I’ve found it necessary. It helps give you direction and helps you stay confident in what you are doing. It doesn’t matter if you don’t entirely know what the outcome will be, you can still have a plan in place to protect you if things go wrong.

For instance, if you are traveling, and your heart tells you to go to a certain place that other people would never stay in, such as a small cabin in the woods, then you could be in line to a peaceful and relaxing vacation. However, if you’ve never been to that cabin, then it could be a really crappy place to be. Moreover, there could be hunters around the cabin hunting when you are there, and there could be young teenagers out camping in the woods partying close to your cabin. Just because you have your heart set on it being clean, peaceful and relaxing doesn’t mean that it’s going to be.

Having a plan in place will help you figure out what to do if things don’t work out the way you thought they would. For instance, knowing the closest small town can still help you get the relaxing vacation you want if things don’t work out and you know of a quiet motel or bed and breakfast in the area.

Following your heart doesn’t mean you have to keep going when everything gets ugly. Just because you followed your heart and booked a cabin in a place everyone thought you shouldn’t book it, doesn’t mean you have to stick it out because your heart told you that it was meant for you.

It’s important to remember that sometimes making a decision based on what your heart says can fall through, and when that happens it can lead you to other decisions that will benefit you in a big way. So, have alternative plans in case something goes wrong and be open to them.

One Very Special Seed!

One Very Special Seed

One Very Special Seed!

An emperor in the far east was growing old and knew it was time to choose his successor. Instead of choosing his assistant or his children, he decided something different. He called young people in the kingdom together one day and said ” It is time for me to step down and choose the next emperor. I have decided to choose one of you”.The kids were shocked! But the emperor continued. “I am going to give each one of you a seed today. One very special seed. I want you to plant the seed, water it and come back here after one year from today with what you have grown from this one seed. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next emperor!”.One Very Special Seed

One boy named Ling was there that day and he, like others, received a seed. He went home and excitedly told his mother the story.

She helped him get a pot and planting soil, and he planted the seed and watered it carefully. Every day he would water it and watch to see if it had grown. After about three weeks, some of the other youths began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow. Ling kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew. 3 weeks.. 4weeks.. 5weeks.. went by. Still, nothing, By now, others were talking about their plants but Ling didn’t have a plant, and he felt like a failure. Six months went by, still nothing in Ling’s pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing. Ling didn’t say anything to his friends, however, he just kept waiting for his seed to grow.

A year finally went by and all the youths of the kingdom brought their plants to the emperor for inspection. Ling’s mother told him to bring the empty pot and be honest about what happened, Ling felt sick to his stomach but he knew his mother was right. He took his empty pot to the palace. When Ling arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other youths. They were beautiful in all sizes and shapes. Ling put his empty pot on the floor and many of the others laughed at him, a few felt sorry for him and just said: “Hey nice try”.

When the emperor arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted the young people. Ling just tried to hide at the back. ” What a great plant. trees and flowers you have grown,” said the emperor. “Today, one of you will be appointed the next emperor!” All of a sudden, the emperor spotted Ling at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered his guards to bring him to the front, Ling was terrified. “The emperor knows I’m a failure! Maybe he will have me killed!”.

When Ling got to the front, the emperor asked his name. “My name is Ling, ” He replied. All the kids were laughing and making fun of him. The emperor asked everyone to quiet down. He looked at Ling, and then announced to the crowd, ” Behold your new emperor! His name is Ling!” Ling couldn’t believe it. Ling couldn’t even grow his seed. How could he be the new emperor?! Then the emperor said, ” One year ago, I gave everyone here a seed, I told you to take the seed, plant it water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds, which would not grow. All of you, except Ling. have brought me trees and plants and flowers. When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Ling was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one  who will be the new emperor!”…

Pencil will become the best pencil it can be.. only if ..

1. It allows itself to be held in someone’s hand, then it will be able to do many great things.
2. It willing to experience a painful sharpening from time to time, then it will become a better pencil.
3. It can manage to correct any mistakes it made.Parable of the pencil

5. And the best part of the pencil is always what’s inside it.

Now replacing the place of the pencil with you would make you the best person you can be..

1. you will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in God’s hand. and allow other human beings to access you for the many gifts you possess.

Changing The World With Kindness, Justice and Peace.

Changing The World With Kindness, Justice, and Peace.

Changing The World With Kindness, Justice, and Peace.

Can we change the world with kindness, justice, and peace? Is it possible? How can these three words help in changing the world? Try to think about it, actually, these three words were connected to each other. If one of them being practice, automatically the other two will get along too. Peace, what do you know about peace? To translate it with word, peace means a situation or a period of time in which there is no war or violence. How can we achieve peace? Rationally we can achieve peace by having a sense of responsibility and appreciation. Each of us has that responsibility to be concern of and we must take that responsibility, as for an easy example that I can take is, by keeping the city clean.

Nowadays on the television, the issues of garbage problem is becoming serious, why do you think it happens? Because we lack a sense of Changing The World With Kindness, Justice, and Peace.responsibility, the same as the sense of appreciation we can take the same example. If people have that sense of appreciation they would make sure that they’re not condemning the clean and beautiful city because they appreciate what they have and will make sure that it were taking care of. Just imagine if everybody has that sense of responsibility and appreciation problem can be avoided and every activities will run smoothly, and when everything runs smoothly it will bring peace to everybody, don’t you think so? How about justice? As we know justice means fair treatment. Being just is a good value of a character because it can prevent hatred and revenge. Justice also brings the people together because it creates a good relationship between the people, it can prevent unsatisfactory which can create revenge among people. It will improve the security of a country and keep the citizen happy.

The hardest part that usually hard to do by certain people is kindness. There once a story of kindness which happened to a doctor during he was still a little boy when one kind lady gave him a glass of milk at a time that he was so hungry and the lady feed him without asking for any payment, and that day was remembered until he became a successful doctor. Until one day he met that lady again, and she was sick, so he repaid her by giving her a treatment for her illness and paid all the charge of the treatment. From this story, we can see how kindness can really affect someone deeply. Because deep down we know this one thing: What matters in this life is more than thinking for ourselves. What matters in this life is helping others lived, even if it means giving something of what you have. Pure kindness can actually motivate a person, that’s why they’re always a saying which said. “Don’t do evil to the evildoer” because it only brings more problems but if we brought kindness to them, they might change! Even kindness is something that difficult to do but actually it always came back to us. Changing The World With Kindness.

Kindness is a quality of being kind and it will throw away the selfishness in our selves, at the same time justice and peace will come along, why? Because a kind person will always love justice and also peace, now we can see that kindness was the most valuable value that we must have in our self in order to experience justice and peace. But how all these three values help in changing the world? It’s easy! Kindness brings justice and peace and what else that better than that? When everybody has a kind heart, treat others fairly and have a sense of responsibility and appreciation what else that more precious than that?. If all these are practice, I believe, problems can be easily solved and there will be no reason to be a war in this world, isn’t that looks like changing the world? There are saying that good to always be reminded of which said, “We are not human beings going through a temporary spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings going through a temporary human experience”. So why not start to change in order to experience more good value in our life and at the same time might help to change the world?

Changing The World With Kindness, Justice, and Peace is a prompting article. Elephant Story – Changes for Survival, Survival Story, is another story of courage.
